I’m so excited to share this beauty post that we collaborated with Lindsey Regan Thorne on! First of all… she is so amazingly talentedand was so inspiring, positive & fun to hang out with! She runs her own (amazing) business, Be Pretty. She shares her passion and knowledge as a true artist in the form of doing make-up, hair design, and personal wardrobe styling (what a package!).
Lindsey is like a ray of beaming sunlight, so if you haven’t crossed paths with her yet, you need to….especially if you have an event or special occasion coming up. OR check out her instagram account for a peek at her adorable, stylish, pretty life!
So I don’t typically wear a ton of make up… so when I described my routine and style to Lindsey she totally understood me. I wanted to learn how to create an elevated look without looking too done up.. something I’d feel good about wearing with denim and a t-shirt but that would also transition to a date night or happy hour with friends without having to pile on more. Below is recap of how Lindsey put my look together…
**I always start with the eyes first to avoid any “fall off” from the shadow**
Step #1 – Apply color “painterly”, Paint Pot by MAC to the entire lid (from below brow to lash line
Step #2 – I created a smokey eye using MAC’s Cool Neutral 15 shade shadow palette. This is an unbelievable value @ only $65.
Step #5 – Using the MAC small angled brush (#266), apply MAC Fluid Lineeye liner in color “Black Track”. By far my favorite eyeliner and it doesn’t smudge on the upper eyelid. It truly stays in place beautifully for hours.
Step # 9 – Apply concealer! Cannot stop the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer addiction. I only have 2 colors in my kit and most of the time I use color “Vanilla” on all of my clients.
Step #10 – A powder color made for any skin type and skin tone! Again, NARS… Their Light Reflecting Pressed Setting Powder is just the best. It’s a translucent powder made for all skin tones that creates a soft luminous tone in any sort of light. A must have for ANY makeup kit.
