With fall FINALLY here the only thing I want to wear is over sized sweaters. There is nothing better than a cozy knit on a chilly morning. As someone who looks for simplicity when getting dressed this is where I tend to gravitate. They are probably one of the easiest items to wear as they are super versatile and can be styled a million ways. I keep my oversized sweater outfit formula pretty simple. Skinny or straight leg jeans look best paired with a simple tee and a slouchy oversized style. Of course, it also works so well with leggings! If you do decide to go the leggings route just make sure your top layer covers your butt.
Styling Option #1 Pair With Skinny Jeans + A Simple White Tee
One of my favorite big sweater styles is the poncho. Simply layer it over skinny jeans and a basic tee. If heels aren’t practical for daytime choose Golden Goose sneakers with this pair of girlfriend denim – that I LOVE by the way. Or if you are wearing skinny jeans try out a pair of over the knee boots with a poncho.
Additional Oversized Sweater Outfit Options
If you are looking for a more tailored approach, try belting it. I love the way this style thats only $68 looks belted! Or if you want to elevate your look all together look into a faux fur style or a fur trimmed option. This fur option comes in three colors and is relatively affordable for a fur option! Prints and patterns are alway a great way to add interest to your outfit without feeling overwhelming. This buffalo check scarf is a timeless pattern and can be worn multiple ways. Stripes are also a great way to add interest in your oversized knit and this style is a classic.
Styling Option #2 – Belt Your Oversized Style To Cinch & Define Your Waist
Styling Option #3 – Pair Oversized Tunics With Leggings
Finally, if ponchos aren’t your thing than try this tunic style below. No joke – I’m obsessed and here is why.
