I recently met with some of my favorite blogger friends to create a post on how to throw a laid back “Friendsgiving”. The problem with entertaining is that it always feels so stressful setting up the table and deciding the menu. So we came up with a solution that adds the fun back into getting together with friends and removes the stress.
Each person was responsible for bringing and creating their own table setting and one dish. Its fun to see what everyone creates as it is an unique reflection of their personal style and aesthetic. To simplify the process even more we all set up together and enjoyed the process of setting the place settings which can otherwise be boring and tedious task. Can you guess which place setting is mine? Hint hint it is very DYG!
Chelsea, of the Haute Child (also read her post je suis parisienne – as she discusses ways in which you can help in light of the recent crisis in Paris), Kristen of Every Chic Way and Maggie of Polished Closets each put their signature touches on their setting offering a beautiful variety of colors and aesthetic. Want to see more of their outfits and style head to their blogs to see if their style resonates with you. I promise not only will you love their style but you will also love their sense of humor. One of my favorite qualities in all of these blogger friends.
As for my outfit I chose something that felt elevated yet casual. This lace top has been on my wishlist for awhile and when Anthropologie did their latest promotion I didn’t hesitate to pick it up. The peplum silhouette provides nice coverage after you have indulged in too much food and of course wine. I also picked up these oversized bubble wine glasses from HomeGoods because what Friendsgiving isn’t complete without a delicious bottle(s) of wine! These felt fun and festive and if you aren’t hosting at your house they are the perfect gift for the hostess to pair with an elegant bottle of wine.
