We had the pleasure of collaborating on a beauty post with Lindsey Regan Thorne the mastermind behind Be Pretty.  After spending an hour browsing her beautiful work on her site and falling in love with her feed on instagram we knew we had to reach out.  It was this line on her blog that had me sold, “I’ve mastered doing a full face in mom speed time.  12 glorious minutes: smokey eye, eyeliner, mascara, brows, primer, full foundation, powder, blush, a little bronzer and highlight.”  Teach me!  I was impressed with myself for applying tinted moisturizer, mascara, blush and a bold lip in ten minutes.  In order to use eyeliner I need a full 12 minutes per eye.  This is glamourous yet elegant makeup application is something I have ALWAYS wanted in my arsenal of tricks.  So when we finally connected with Lindsey I was so excited to get to work with Lindsey.
Not only is Lindsey incredibly talented but she is so beautiful, inside AND out.  She has a very sweet and calming manner to her.  I found myself chatting up a storm as if I were sitting with my best friend that I hadn’t seen in ages.  If you have an event coming up and need professional services we HIGHLY recommend Lindsey!   Even if you don’t have a special occasion coming up and just want to Be Pretty then follows Lindsey’s breakdown on how she created this simply stunning look for me in under 15 minutes.
**I always start with the eyes first to avoid any “fall off” from the shadow**
Step #1 – Apply color “painterly”, Paint Pot by MAC to the entire lid (from below brow to lash line
Step #2 – Apply shadow below brow.  Color “Strange” in the Urban Decay 3 Palette.
Step #3 – Apply shadow from lash line up. Color “Dust” in the Urban Decay 3 Palette.
Step #4 – Slightly highlight the inner cream/ arch using color “Nooner” in the Urban Decay 3 Palette.
**note- this palette was made for blondes!**
Step #5 – Using the MAC small angled brush (#266), apply MAC Fluid Line eye liner in color “Black Track”.  By far my favorite eyeliner and it doesn’t smudge on the upper eyelid.  It truly stays in place beautifully for hours.
Step #6 – Apply lashes.  I love Hudy Beauty brand style “Samantha” for a softer look.
Step #7 – Apply primer.  I love NARS for that summer dewy look.  Plus, it’s not too heavy.  NARS products are made to use with your fingers!  No brush needed for this product.
Step #8 – Apply foundation.  I used Make Up For Ever’s Mat Velvet in color #30 (one of the most used colors that I’ve ever worked with).  I applied a very light coverage.
Step # 9 – Apply concealer!  Cannot stop the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer addiction.  I only have 2 colors in my kit and most of the time I use color “Vanilla” on all of my clients.
Step #10 – A powder color made for any skin type and skin tone!  Again, NARS… Their Light Reflecting Pressed Setting Powder is just the best. It’s a translucent powder made for all skin tones that creates a soft luminous tone in any sort of light.  A must have for ANY makeup kit.
Step #11 – Apply blush.  I’m currently obsessed with MAC Mineralize Skinfinsih blush in color “Gentle”.
Step #12 – Lightly kiss the cheekbones and cupids bow with a touch of MAC highlighter in color “Lightscape”.
Step #13 – Apply mascara.
Step #14 – Apply the signature DYG bold lip  – like this one by MAC – Girl About Town.
