I’m back “home” in Charlotte after a long and much needed weekend in NYC.  My whole family with the exception of my brother still lives in NY and to say that I miss them on a daily basis is an understatement.  I miss having dinner with my sisters on a random Tuesday or seeing my parents on a Saturday afternoon.  I miss the energy that engulfs the city and the atmosphere that makes you feel like you can conquer the world.  Granted we were in the city for one of the best weekends of the year where the energy is off the charts which is Marathon Weekend but it is still apparent that the city is invigorating.  Isabella and I went up to cheer on my sister who ran the race and we were lucky enough to spend time with my parents on top of it.  While I was there, I forgot how much I loved it.  Don’t get me wrong, Charlotte is a wonderful place to raise a family but nothing compares to NYC.  While spending time there this past weekend I realized I have moved away from my old self and my old sense of style.  I could blame it on the weather or the fact that I am now a mom of two or the change in environment but whatever it might be I am eager to get back to my old self and my old sense of style.  While I know that running around CLT wearing an outfit that resembles something out of a POLO ad is not realistic, I will try and get back to looking my best on a daily basis and to looking and feeling like myself.

To be honest, as much as I loved being up in NYC and the idea of feeling like myself again I also missed my little Summer and was excited to get back to her.  These pictures are from a month ago but it’s still one of my favorites outfits that I can easily wear on a daily basis when I’m on “mom duty”.  This Free People Tunic Top is aptly named Just The Two Of Us and is available in over 6 colors.  Here is the outfit formula I use when styling it:
