Top: Soft Joie // Pants: Soft Joie // Choker: Baublebar // Mules: Kristin Cavallari // Clutch: Rebecca Minkoff // Lipstick: Bobbi Brown // Sunglasses: Ray-Ban
I was doing research on how-to wear the choker trend when I came across this exact outfit on Shopbop. It is everything I look for in an outfit when I am rocking my “cool mom” style. Comfortable yet chic pants, shoes that require little effort to get on and off but aren’t flip-flops and a top that has some interest. I always try and add on one element that takes the outfit up a notch and gives it that extra flair. Typically it is a bold lip or cool sunnies but I have been intrigued by this choker trend and have been watching it grow in popularity so I figured I needed to try it out. Anytime any big trend hits in jewelry I love Baublebar as a resource to test out the style to see if it works for me before I invest. They always highlight the best trends, offer a ton of options and color choices and are also inexpensive.
At first I felt guilty for taking an exact outfit from Shopbop and putting it on my blog but then I realized that sometimes you don’t need to reinvent the wheel. They have stylists that are paid to put together cool outfits so why wouldn’t I like a look from one of my favorite designers on one of my favorite sites? I just swapped the accessories for less expensive options all of which are under $100. This look is perfect for dinner with the kids or when you have enough time in the morning to put on an actual outfit. I have learned that yes this is possible when I have an outfit formula that I can easily create with the essential pieces in my closet and this below is one of them.
Slouchy Drawstring Pants + Trendy Top + One Bold Accessory + Chic Shoes + Bold Sunnies = Chic Mom Style
