If I had the opportunity to pack a hospital bag, here are the items I would have included! Keep it to a minimum as the hospital will provide you with so many essentials. Plus, remember you will be leaving the hospital with a very important bundle so you will not want to be lugging a gigantic suitcase with you. Always remember the most important thing to pack for any new parents: a sense of humor.
Tumi ‘Vapor™ – Jonathan Adler’ Continental Carry-On:The Suitcase! Remember you will be leaving the hospital with a baby! Do not overpack and keep the bag carry-on size or smaller. I highly suggest one that rolls because your hands will be carrying a baby and a car seat out of the hospital and you want something that moves easily and is not a hassle.
A Smart Phone for Photos! Unless you’re a photographer, rest assured that your smartphone will definitely be perfect for your first, precious photos. Just remember to bring your charger!
Kissy Kissy ‘Sweet’ One-Piece and Ralph Lauren Footie: The going home outfit! (Pack 2 – 3 total!) Try not to get too cute and stick with outfits that snap or zip up with covered feet and hands. (It’s always much easier to have it all built in! 🙂 Plus, the fabric quality from Ralph Lauren and Kissy Kissy are my favorite brands to put against new baby skin.
2 comfy outfits for Mom to wear home from the hospital
These outfits are both super comfy and stylish. While fashion may not be the first thing on your mind, a simple scarf or small addition can make all the difference in feeling beautiful and fresh on our way home.
Elyse not only gave me my diaper bag but she also gave me two great pieces of advice. 1. Always have the bag packed and ready to go – you never know when you will need it; and, 2. make sure you keep a spare shirt or outfit for you in the bag. If you want to win wife of the year you can keep a spare for your husband or partner, too!
I feel so lucky that the slouchy pant is such a hot trend right now. The elastic waistband on these pants gives will give you the comfort that you are looking for and the drapey top will help conceal your mid-section. Keep this look chic but adding polished shoes and a structured bright bag for a pop of color. Throw on a long necklace to help elongate your frame and you are set for brunch with friends.
Outfit 2: A floral romper for a night out on the town!
One piece and done! Jumpsuits have become my new best friend for this reason alone. I love this style because it cinches in at the waist allowing me to make it smaller or larger depending on how I am feeling. Pick a color that compliments your skin tone and it will instantly brighten your overall appearance. Add complimentary accessories and heels and you are set for a birthday party celebration with friends!
This dress nips in at the waist but its elastic so it will give with your evolving shape. The neckline shows just enough skin to make you feel sexy but not over exposed. The blouson sleeves help conceal arms which might be an area of insecurity. The print and height on these heels makes them sexy and fun! Aviators are my favorite style sunglasses and can be dressed up for events or worn everyday to conceal tired eyes. Longer earrings will help elongate your face shape. I love these aqua dangly hoops which compliment the hot pink perfectly. This is my go to wedding look post baby!
Outfit 4: The Sexy Shift Dress for a Cocktail Party with Friends
This style is great because it won’t cling to your body. A more conservative shape will help you feel confident at your next event. Add a dose of glitter with accessories to add polish to your look and you have an easy outfit to wear to a cocktail party.
