Team DYG had a fantastic time enjoying bubbly drinks, delicious butter cream cupcakes with other sweet treats, and the beautiful pieces on display at our C.Wonder event last week. The Holiday Spirit was definitely in full bloom, especially with our co-hosts Janelle and Jessica of GIRLS OFF FIFTH, recognized by CNN.com
as one of the best fashion blogs to follow.
As always at DYG events, we had so many beautiful best dressed guests to choose from, but could only select one winner! Ultimately, we fell in love with Kristina Olander’s love for glitz, expert attention to stylized accessories, and her cozy yet glamorous look, making her our C.Wonder Holiday winner! Read on for our Q&A with Kristina as she chats looking super chic in a short amount of time with her favorite basics, her go to brands, and more with Kate!
My outfit itself was very basic. I started with a Banana Republic crewneck sweater and tucked that into my black Pookie and Sebastian box pleated skirt. Next I threw on some black tights (for warmth!) and my black Steve Madden booties. They have a pointed toe which I thought made the outfit a little more elegant. Now this alone would have been way too boring (for my taste) so I added a navy Roberta Freymann jeweled bib necklace and my Hermes Jige clutch in classic orange. Then I threw on my All Saints grey shearling jacket, a hat and gloves and ran out the door!
I am an Assistant Manager at an upscale consignment boutique called Second Time Around!
To be honest, I was meeting my cousin after work so I wanted to stick with something that would work for both day and night. You can never go wrong with all black, especially in New York City. All you need is some fun accessories! That’s why I added a fab statement necklace and an orange clutch!
I live for a fabulous fit and flare party dress and I am known to add a little sparkle to almost everything I wear. If I’m going for a more subtle look I’ll wear my glittered Louboutins, but if I’m really feeling festive, I’ll rock a sequined blazer!
I am a big fan of Alice+Olivia for the fun and flirty dresses. I also love J.Crew for timeless pieces I’ll always have in my closet. I’m a big fan of monogramming pretty much anything so C.Wonder is an obvious choice!
Go back to basics. I always start with a timeless base such as an LBD or a crisp white blouse with some dark skinny jeans. You can always add a fun pop of color or make a “boring” black outfit more trendy with accessories.
