More About Donnell Baldwin

donnel-baldwin2NYC Menswear Stylist, Donnell Baldwin, began his creative career as an Assistant Director of Admissions at an art school where he interviewed artists looking to be accepted into various programs such as Graphic Arts, Film, Web & Game Design as well as Fashion Design, Fashion Styling and Merchandising. The more he interviewed potential students regarding their admission, the more he realized that he wanted to be on the other side of the interview table and pursue his dream.

Working part-time at a Ralph Lauren store in the Georgetown area of Washington DC, Baldwin caught the attention of multiple District Managers who consistently commented on his style. Months later, these same managers would select him to help open a newly constructed Ralph Lauren store in East Hampton, NY. With much hard work, years of preparation, and an awesome opportunity, Baldwin then began his styling career.

Baldwin currently works at Ralph Lauren as the Menswear Styling Manager for the Wholesale Online Marketing & Strategy division. He is the go-to guy for Saks.com, Macys.com, Nordstrom.com, Barneys.com and the list goes on. He has styled for various RL brands including, Purple Label, Black label, Polo, Denim & Supply, RLX , Golf/RLX Golf, Sleepwear, Boys and Infants (Layette).

Baldwin’s “eye” for style was initially trained by his grandfather, Frank. “I feel like I’ve learned everything I know from him style-wise. He taught me how to tie my first tie, how to wear a suit, which shoes to wear, virtually everything…”

Working for Ralph Lauren has definitely helped shape Baldwin’s eye for details, elegance and luxury.

  1. I was wondering if you ever considered changing the structure of your website? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say. But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having 1 or 2 pictures. Maybe you could space it out better?
